About Carl Baggett Jr

I started pipe band drumming in 1989 with the Grandfather Mountain Highlanders from Linville NC.  Also, I've played with the St Andrews Presbyterian College Pipe Band.  I have been the drum instructor for Grandfather, the Jamestown Pipes and Drums, and the Appalachian Highlanders.  I will be the instructor for the Deep River Pipes and Drums this year.  I became Grandfather's Drum Sergeant in 2001 leading them to 2 Southern United States Championships, an EUSPBA championship in 2003, and a second place finish at the North American Pipe Band Championship in grade 3.  I was given the honorary title of Drum Major during that time (something that meant a great deal to me) .  I have been involved in 9 Southern Championship drum lines.  I was graciously given the opportunity to be a guest presenter at the 2004 PASIC Percussion Day at Lenoir Rhyne University in Hickory, NC.  I have composed music for several bands such as the Seven Pipers and the Forest Legion Pipe Band.  Some of my compositions can be found in the library page at http://www.drumming.tk/ .
